We ignored the advice of the gal working in the tourist office in Bicheno (these workers in the tourism industry here really need to rethink their advice!) and drove to the town of St. Mary's where there's a delightful cafe called The Purple Possum. But on this morning we chose to have breakfast at Mount Elephant Pancakes. Along the route that we were warned to avoid, we saw gorgeous, moss covered trees and vistas that reminded us of the setting of a gothic novel -- eerie but beautiful.
